Utilities Maintenance Ecology Assessments
Prior to pipe condition assessments of a major pipeline Practecology was commissioned to complete ecological assessments of fourteen proposed inspection locations.
The ecology assessments were to determine the presence of protected or notable species and advise the Client on the need for any licenses or mitigation prior to works.
Practecology completed a desk based review of available information prior to each site visit and provided a report on any constraints. Although the majority of sites were located in pastoral or arable fields a number of interesting species were observed during the surveys including peregrine falcon, buzzard and sand martin.
