SRUC Bush Estate
Practecology completes Extended Phase 1 Survey of large multi-purpose building complex to inform a planning application.
The site
The SRUC Bush Estate Campus is used for agricultural research and development and supports a number of buildings with a range of functions. Many buildings are currently derelict and the Scottish Rural College (SRUC) is proposing to redevelop the campus and make the site more modern, energy efficient and utilise the available space more effectively.
Site Survey
Practecology was commissioned to undertake an extended Phase 1 survey of the campus and to identify any constraints to the sites re-development. Additionally, the final report detailed opportunities for landscape enhancement and made recommendations which may be adopted during construction and subsequent operation to safeguard the existing biodiversity of the site. This report was then submitted as part of a planning application to the local authority.
